Here at Oregon PC Service we are seeing a lot of people come in with broken DC Jacks on their Laptops. the most common reason for this is people tend to travel with their Power Adapter still plugged into the DC Jack. Keep in mind that the connectors are very fragile and any tug can pull it from the connections to the mainboard. This can be a costly fix which is easily avoidable, remeber to remove your power adapter from the machine when traveling with the Laptop.

Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to put a message out there to all you Portland area computer owners and users. We have seen quite a few systems come in here with virus infections, most of these systems were either not protected or had expired virus protection software. It is very important to keep your computer protected more than before because even sites you trust can get you infected. Studies have shown that less than 50% of home computers are protected with some type of Virus or Malware software, some people consider cost when deciding not to install virus protection, however there is no need to pay for this service. You can get several great packages for free on the internet (some of them better then the paid versions), some to consider are: AVAST, AVG, and even Microsoft offers a free package called "Microsoft Security Essentials" check it out at: http://www.microsoft.com/security/products/mse.aspx

It is important to keep in mind though that no software is 100% protection, it is important as a computer user that we are careful and aware of any dangers that lurk on the internet.
